focus and stay focused.

It’s my mission to help you reclaim what’s yours.

Teaching Mindfulness and Meditation to Improve Focus and Ease While Living in this Distraction Filled World

Protecting our ability to stay focused may very well be one of the most significant challenges we encounter in today’s modern world.  Train your brain to improve this sacred skill through mindfulness and meditation.

  • Find more ease and focus

  • Reduce the impact of a worrying mind

  • Learn to skillfully work with a busy mind and distractions

Your focus is worth fighting for

After a wonderful 20-year law-enforcement career, I faced a sudden loss of the ability to focus due to burnout and stress.  I then immersed myself in the practice of mindfulness and meditation as I searched for a way to train my brain to once again be able to focus. I’ve had a profound experience with mindfulness and meditation, as its benefits have spanned across many areas of my life including the ability to focus. I hope to help many by sharing my experience and teaching this remarkable skill to others.

My Own Journey Reclaiming Focus

My own story of an exhaustive battle with the inability to focus has virtually been untold. I thought I would never tell it, for various reasons including – my pride. After a rewarding career that involved many years as a detective in robbery and later counterterrorism, my ability to focus was shattered. No one knew, but I knew. I suddenly went from being a competent performer to not performing. Now, understanding how the mind works, and what burn-out and cumulative post-traumatic stress can potentially do to our sacred ability to focus, my cognitive state of an obliterated attention span was almost inevitable. Simply put, I was in a bad way.

Similarly, the world we live in today of relentless digital distraction tsunamis and other attention crashers can also affect our ability to focus – our ability to focus gets shattered and seems to deteriorate over time.  But we can get it back.  You can absolutely train for focus – You can restore what’s yours.

My competitive mindset fueled a drive that my focus was worth fighting for. Over years, I fought back, understanding the whys, compounding small gains, and targeting my systems to ultimately regain this ability.

To help others reclaim this vital human skill, I knew I would have to conduct one final investigation. This investigation would not be related to terrorism or an armed robbery.  Instead, this final case would be on me, to answer: What did I do? How did I do it? and What do I continue to do to get back my ability to focus and stay focused?  By providing the results of this final investigation, I hope to help many “fight” for what’s theirs:  their focus.

I’ll fight this good fight with you
